Dan,
I just had surgery(open)this morning with a local.The Dr.had them give me something through IV to take the edge off, but it was great to be wide awake almost instantaneously after the procedure. I was awake when they were putting the turniquet on and then I awoke just when they put the tape on my ACE bandage. It's too early to tell how everything went, but I have a good amount of pain, but I'm pretty confident. Hope I answered your question. GOOD LUCK!!!
