Today I got three in the wrist and man did it hurt. Had a nerve pace test and registered at 3.96. has to be 4.2 to be worthy of another operation. So here I sit with an even sorer wrist and no diagnosis or pain meds. Anyone have anything interesting to say about cortisone shots ? Help! My opinion is don't do them. They are damaging to the tissue and though this is blunt the most logical way is to think "If surgery didn't get rid of the syndrome how is the lesser (shots) method going to get rid of carpal tunnel syndrome?" You might want to try to figure out what caused carpal tunnel syndrome to develop because all of the surgery in the world won't work until you know what's wrong or are one of the lucky few who never figured it out, but was able to assume repetitive movement after the surgery was successful. For example, right now it's suspected that I have it from a thyroid disease so if I was to go have surgery done I would still have carpal tunnel syndrome because the disease has not been found or medicated yet (haven't got the tests yet). The cause is often difficult to find, but sometimes very critical. Hopefully all of that made since.
