Hi Bloomer,
It is not normally a Companies Work Comp Lawyer you would be dealing with but their insurance adjuster. You can try to negotiate but it might be more worthwhile to retain a lawyer. There are a lot of laws that the general public is unaware of as well as benefits that noone will explain except someone working in your corner. I would suggest a lawyer.
