: If you get a second, would you update us on your healing progress? I know all of you are working folks and probably tired when you get home. But I was thinking this morning how nice it was for you to share your surgeries. New posters can benefit a great deal from your information. I hope your doing well and will let us know how things are going during your healing process. Melani

Hi Everyone,
As most of you know I had endo surgery on my right dom hand Sept 9th, my recovery was going very well I had almost no pain. 2 days post op my doctor saw me and took off the "big" bandage, I had no swelling and very little bruising (I swear by using ice!) Everything was going well, I was slowly getting strength back, when I fell and broke a small bone in my right wrist on Oct 3. After that I had alot of pain, but it was nothing like the carpal tunnel pain I had had before the surgery. It was mostly in the thumb area where I had the broken carpal bone. Well that took a looooong time to heal, but it did. Everything was going well when in the beginning of Feb I had to chip ice off of a big staircase. It's a long story, but what I had to do was use a snow shovel like a axe, swing it over my head and slam it down on the stairs, for about an hour! Of course, it was much too soon to put my hand through that. But I had no choice, I had movers there at the time and no one else to clear the stairs. I didn't want to see someone fall and get hurt.
Anyway, the healing from that has been slow going, my wrist is better but I am still haveing trouble with my hand. The knuckles where my hand and fingers meet (especially the middle one) swell often and are painful. I went to a hand surgeon recently and he thought it was strange, but couldn't be bothered with me. I think he wants to retire. Anyway I am giving it a little more time and then I will see another hand specialist.
The important thing is I feel that the surgery was a complete sucess. I rarely have the "cts" pain that drove me to surgery any more. If I hadn't re injured it after the surgery I think I would be doing great now. I was told before hand that I would get the occasional "nerve pain" once in a while for about a year because of the entrapement, but again, it is nothing like the pain I was having before surgery.
Sorry for the long post, but that is my story and where I am at today.
Take care everyone,
Kitty
