I asked my doctor the same question (left him a message) but he won't be back in the office until next week, and I am anxious about this. : : About 5 months ago, my doctor told me to take 600mg Ibuprofen 3 times a day. Has anybody here been taking similar dosage of Ibuprofen for a relatively long time? If so, how long? Also, have you been experiencing any side effects? : : I feel like my symptoms are improving so surgery is out of the question. I also don't feel any side effects from regularly taking Ibuprofen at this time. Any information would be greatly appreciated. : I was told that the max dose is 2400 mg per day, translating to 800 mg 3 times per day. It would be my opinion that you should be okay at the dose you're at, but check with the doc to be sure. Motrin (Ibuprofen) Generic name: Ibuprofen
