Hi Ms Paula,
Just to let you know, I did have surgery, I had endo on my dominate hand. I did learn to use the computer primarily with my left (non-dom) hand. It was slow going but even now I only mouse with my left. I am a corporate accountant in a very busy company, luckily I was able to take three weeks out, then due to an accident right before I went back, had to be out a little longer.
My opinion is that is it better for your recovery to stay out longer...my biggest problem after I got back and even before was lifting things and everday stuff like doing your hair and what not. But if using your computer is what you're worried about try using it lefty for awhile, I think you'll get the hang of it. Also I have a "little mouse" that fits in the palm of my hand that I use lefty, they are available at any staples for about 3o bucks. It is great and easy to use with your non-dom hand.
If you want to avoid surgery, start reading some of the older posts, there's lots of great advice on these pages and one of the non-surgical solutions may work for you...that would be great! I don't think any of us wants surgery, it was just that I ran out of options.
