I have been rubbing lotion on it about 5 times a day to break-up the scar tissue and to desensitize the area but when I do it makes my thumb and wrist ache. Is this normal? if, so when will it go away? I also noticed that the muscle in the base of my hand under my thumb is soft and muscless. Will this muscle come back?

Hi Denise,
I had CT and Trigger thumb release on the 20th...everything is healing well, but my scars are pretty red and hard also. The thumb is worse. I am having the most trouble writing...is this still a problem for you?
