Ask your doctor if he would hold off for just a bit. It is crazy to go through surgery and then still not be able to perform your job! (I am NOT a believer of surgery at all! There are way too many unhappy patients vs. happy) I will give you a great place to start... visit www.flextend.com. This product is great and saved my life! They believe success is only when you are 100% better, doing everything you did before and then some! Also, if you haven't already tried deep massage / trigger point therapy and good stretches / exercises, give those a thought too. Be sure to look into these closely, because just as everything else, there are good stretched / exercises, and ones that will make things worse. Don't do anything that requires squeezing, pinching of your fingers, gripping or anything even close to that. Best of luck!
: Hi Lisa, it doesn't sound like you had a 100% successful surgery either with the doctor restricting you. The way it was explained to me, is the doctor writes down your restrictions and then you turn them over to your job. If your job can provide work for you with those restrictions then your fixed up. If not, you may be looking for work that accepts the restrictions. When my doctor mentioned this to me, I freaked because he put down no pushing, pulling, lifting and no overhead work. (phone duty only) with my left hand. My fear and question was, How many people will hire me with those restrictions? My doctor decided to wait on the restrictions because if I was lucky enough to find a job with his restrictions, I couldn't write messages for 8 hours. When I'm released, I want 0 restrictions. I want to wish you luck. Your doctors restrictions may not be as heavy duty or scary. Keep us updated. We wish you the best. Melani
