Gripping, typing, and basically the things you commonly do all day, every day, are using the muscles on the palm-side of your hands and forearms. To reverse the negative effects of this "over-use" of those muscles, I recommend you exercise the opposing muscles, i.e., the back-side of your hand and forearm. Studies show, that for many people who suffer from cts and rsi's, this can be a very effective form of treatment. Also, stretching and massage of the over-used areas of your hands and forearm may be very helpful. Good Luck! : I have moderate CTS symptoms on both hands. I am still undecided if it is worth getting surgery done. My doctor has not said anything about surgery. Right now, I just take 600mg Ibuprofen 3 times a day, and minimize using the keyboard (I now using Dragon Voice Recognition for typing). : Anyways, I would like to know if any of you continue to ride a bicycle even with CTS. Does cycling make CTS worse? I ride a mountain bike with front suspension, on paved roads for now. Thanks for any information.
