Hi Patsy, if you have the option of choosing which procedure is to be done, in my opinion, it would be the open hand release. I prefer the doctor to have an on sight look into my hand to see what the problem is. I guess I say this also because I had a bad experience with the endoscopic surgery. But there are several people who went with endo and had great success. I guess that ones up to you and what you feel comfortable with.

I was put to sleep with my endo surgery but others had locals and were awake. Being awake doesn't mean that you will feel anything because your given a drug to numb the area. Using the local lets the doctor talk to you and ask you to move your fingers. You feel no pain so theres no worry about that.
