When I went to get my left carpal tunnel surgery done, a doctor came down the ward with a black marker pen & said "I'm just going to mark which leg we're going to operate on." The guy was absolutely serious too. Boy was I glad I'd opted for the local anaesthetic LOL . They didn't give me any sedation either so I was making absolutely sure where that scalpel was going!
