Most of you probably won't know me though. However, I wanted to let those who do know me that I'm still around and update them. : The chiropractor I saw during the summer helped my body, but didn't do much for my hands. I had to stop seeing him in the winter and will get in as many visits as possible this spring before I lose my insurance. I have continued to take iodine in much smaller amounts and I'm really not sure if that has done much... I think it probably has done a little, but not enough to help a whole lot. I'm graduating high school a year late because of bad health and unfortunately starting this year students will have to pass a test to receive a diploma. I'm afraid of how my hands will do during this test. I never wanted to be this way, but I understand that I just have to get it over with and hopefully will make it through the test without crying. Those teachers don't want to know my opinion of the school system and what it has done to me. It sounds like my last chance before surgery is the combination of chiropractor and iodine. This chance doesn't seem too good. How much is the surgery anyways? I'm still wearing splints and have done so for 2 years and four months. I have had muscle deterioration throughout my body due to iodine deficiency, CTS, and iron deficiency. My mom says I should take the splints off more and more each day, but it hurts without them and I'm afraid I will hurt even more than I already do so I just save the pain for school. When I'm done with school hopefully I'll be able to read other People's posts, but for now school keeps me so busy that I can't really do much. I hope other people are having better luck than me. It really is amazing to see all of these different names on this board because it show's how many people there are with a syndrome that has an extremely underestimated power. Hello Crys, I remember your name well.. Crys I think your Mother was right in advising you to take off the splints more.. Splints are great for sleeping & doing only certain chores during the day, but you should never wear them 24/7 as your muscles will waste.. Please try to take them off for periods of time during the day.. I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain..Do your best to get through high school & then please do something about your health.. Do you have health insurance? |
