: whether you have tests and decide on surgery or not, check out these sites. test the trigger points as described in the 2nd link. surgery for carpal tunnel only corrects the nerve compression at the tunnel. there can be compression elsewhere, due to rounding your shoulders while bending over the guitar, for example.
