Say I wonder how many people are in on the secret... did you know that your own body contains painkillers more powerful than heroin or morphine? Doesn't cost you a nickel, you don't have to break the law, and you don't have to suffer the debilitating effects of long-term pharmaceutical painkiller use.
The trick is how to get your brain to trigger their release. That is one reason therapies like electrical stimulation and ultrasound can be great for pain relief. The therapy stimulates neurotransmitters which send signals to the brain which in turn releases what it determines to be the necessary amount of a particular brain chemical, sends it to the injured site and... voila!!! Pain relief! And of course, that's aside from the fact that those therapies also stimulate increased circulation which also speeds healing in the area.
