: Has anyone had success using trackballs or wrist wraps or wrist pads?

: My wrist and palm are sore from some intense programming over the last few weeks. Last night my arm kept me up with a numb pain.

: On this site I see links to a rocketmouse, but that looks pretty awkward for a software developer.

: Has anyone used the following products (or can suggest one)?

: Logitech trackball "marblemouse"
: logitech thumbball "trackman"
: Belkin waverest wrist/mouse pad
: Promedics wristeasy wrist brace (or similar thing)
: Keyboard wrist rest (though its really mouse use that is killing me, not typing, but Im open to the idea that this won't last forever)

: Anyone use that wild keyboard from safetype?

I use a logitech Trackman Vista, which has the ball positioned for index finger use. The left mouse button is thumb controlled, and the other two are programmable. It's shaped so that it sits on a table and you lay your hand on it. The heel of the hand and the wrist stay stationary, the thumb moves a bit to click, and the index finger does the mouse moving with a short push/pull finger stroke to roll the ball. I've had it about 3 years, and my wrist doesn't hurt using it.

I rest my elbows on my chair and put the keyboard in my lap. then Im not resting my wrists on anything and still maintain that "correct" typing alignment. I don't use a computer constantly at work, so Im relating what I do at home.
