Hi, Alan... I'm glad your surgery went well and you're mending nicely. You'll be able to tell when you can use a hand brake again comfortably without hurting your hand. Six weeks seems more reasonable but some heal faster than others. I'm glad you'll be able to be compensated by your employer, I hope it's easier there than it is here :) Good luck and please let us know how you're doing.... Linda
