I have been having some issues with the discomfort of healing, and a call to my os resulted in the belief that I might be having the beginnings of a bit of adhesions, and was told that massaging it perpendicular to the scar line will help, along with an application of vitamin e.

I was looking around for what I had in the house with vitamin E in it, and I came across some Aloe and Vitamin E with lidocaine cooling gel for sunburns. It dawned on me that the teensy bit of lidocaine in it might help with the hypersensitivity issue as well as provide aloe and vitamin E for healing. Well, I tried it, and it worked. It had enough slipperiness to be a decent massaging lubricant and I can still feel, but it's not as sensitive as it was, which is wonderful. The desensitization doesn't last a long time (minimal amount of lidocaine in the gel I used), but even the short period of relief is welcome.

Maybe this idea might help someone else. Let me know if you try it.
