I too have recently had a ctr. Mine was on 12/18. I'm not in a cast, but agree with Jeepgirl. You've got to rest it after they do it. I had my left hand done in 1995, and that hand's been just fine since. I had the right one just done. I get my stitches out tomorrow. Dont be afraid to ask for pain meds. I too have posted about my experiences in the previous topics on the board.
Good luck. Keep in mind that you won't be able to do a lot of things you do with 2 hands, so be prepared. Ready to eat things make the first couple days postop easier, if you're on your own. Opening twist top containers can be a challenge too, so you might want to consider that, for things like the a milk jug or a soda bottle.
