I wore my cast for 2 weeks. He had originally told me it would be three days in a bandage and then I could take the bandage off for showers and redress it. But the nerve was is worse shape than he expected. I had my nerver released, not moved.

I work at my house for a company and I do a significant amt of paperwork, computer work and phone work. I asked for the whole week off but it did not happen. On day 2 I was on the phone several hours and by day 4 I was at the commputer part of the day. I would not recommened this plan of return to anyone as it was difficult to manuever with the straight out cast. I would have preferred both weeks off until the cast was off and then once it was off, and stiches out at least a couple days to get used to moving it again.

Pain wise it wasnt as bad as the bunion surgeries I have had so I didnt take as much of the pain meds as I expected. Sleeping was a real pain in the cast and is still a pain as I find myself bending the arm and it still hurts to do so.

When is your surgery and what are they doing?

: Could you describe your post op experiences after cubital tunnel surgery. Is it painful? Did you have to wear a cast and for how long? How long before you could use your arm/hand again? How long were you off work for? I would like to try and prepare myself for what lies ahead.
