To determine if you have Stenosis the Doctor would probably have you get an MRI. Once I had the diagnosis of "Marked" Cervical Stenosis I went to a Neurosurgeon who then had performed a Myleogram/CT Scan which is injecting a dye in the base of your spinal colummn and tilting your body head down on a special X-Ray table and they shoot away with the X-Rays, followed by a CT Scan. That test is to see if the Stenosis is pinching off the nerves in your neck leading to your arms/hands. My test for that was negative, so I ended up getting the Open Release done on my worst CTS hand. Don
