Alan,
What I want to know is if there's anything, be it stretching or exercise, that I can do to help? The numbness is mainly at night, and there's no pain. It seems to stem from near the elbow, because if I straighten my arm, it'll go away. The CT release surgery fixed the numbness and loss of strength in my other fingers, but I still have the problem with nighttime numbness in the pinkie and ring fingers.

My job requires extensive time at the keyboard, and the one I have is a split ergonomic with an adjustable height chair and table. I'm doing programming and writing papers, not lots of data input or secretarial-type keyboarding, so I guess it could be much worse. My work station has been checked out by an ergonomic specialist, so there doesn't seem to be much more I can do in that regards.

So, what I want to find out is some specific recommendations for exercises or stretching that I can do that will help.

Thanks,

Kay

: : I have both CTS and problems with numbness at night in my ring and pinkie fingers. The CTS in the right hand was taken care of by surgery, I'm waiting until the next fiscal year to have surgery on my left hand. However, I'm not bad enough to be a candidate for surgery for the ulner nerve problems. Can anyone recommend any exercises that might help?

: : Thanks,

: Kay,
: There are 3 aspects to triggerpoint. 1, exercise or work, which many of us get, which seems to be a part of the problem. 2, stretching, somewhat helpful, and 3, muscle release, which allows shortened and painful muscles to go back to a more normal length. Let me know how you are doing. I would like to help. Alan
