: That is wonderful that you are experiencing releif from the splints! Does the CTS bother you during the day at work? Because I think they reccomend you only wear the splints at night. But not sure about that. My advice to you is to read over this board, lots of good info. I would scour it and the internet, as well as talk to your doctor before thinking about surgery. I had it and it went well, but thought about it long and hard before hand.

Hi Marcie
Kitty is right in saying that splints are best just worn at night. The reason for that is, if you immobilize your hand & wrist too much, your muscles get weak from lack of use. It's a bit like when you break an arm or leg & they put you in plaster for 8 weeks. When the plaster comes off, the limb is all thin because the muscle tone is lost.

I also agree with Kitty about scouring the internet for as much info as you can gather about cts treatment.
