: Hi! I am the one preparing for the surgery 12/3. I don't know if it is endo or open. Which is less painful and fastest to recover from?

: Many of you have said to ice after surgery. This is probably a stupid question but the doctor said I will have a huge bandage on my arm. How would I ice it?

: Thanks to all who have replied.

I used one of those old fashioned "headache" ice bags that you refill with cubes. It worked very well as it "molded" to my wrist nicely. The only hard part was that I really needed to have someone fill it for me as it has a screw off lid. But I definitly felt the cold through my bandages and it felt GOOD! My surgeon removes the heavy bandages on the 2nd day post op, so I didn't have to deal with the heavy bandage issue more than a day and 1/2. Like Melanie suggested I also kept my hand over my head on a pillow, I think that helped alot also.
