: : : : : : : Hi everyone, : : : : : : Kitty, You might check with your doctor but I have used flaxseed oil and chondrotin/glucoamine and some MSM. Alan : : : : : Hi Kitty, : : : : : I'll ditto what Alan said. I had the same thing with two bones in my right knee rubbing together. Dr was talking about a knee replacement, but I opted to try the Chondrotin/glucosamine and MSM. It took a couple of months before the knee quit hurting, but it did. I can run now but had trouble walking at the time. Also my knuckles would get inflammed and the stuff clears it up. I had read that the chondrotin would rebuild cartilage, had doubts about that, but apparently worked for me. : : : : : Good luck with it. Hope you have as much success as I did and still having. : : : : : Corey : : : : HI guys. I hurt my right knee doing step arobics(sp). I missed the step. I have problems going up stairs but do just fine coming down. Do you think the Chondratin/glucosamine MSM will help with my knee? My husbands boss just had knee replacement on both knees and is in horrible pain. I don't want any part of that. If either thinks it will help my knee, I'll be flying to the healthstore. Melani : : : Hi Melani and everyone interested, : : : My earlier answer was made at 4:00AM and I see the post is choppy, but I did get my point across. : : : A co-worker was having trouble with his hands getting stiff with no other signs of arthritis. He started taking the glucosamine/chondroitin and within a week or two he lost the stiffness in his hands and other joints that he had not noticed that were stiffening up (he is 60). With my own knee, it hurt terribly when I tried to walk and I would have to use special positions and props with pillows just to sleep. X-rays showed that the cartilage was very thin and the constant pressure kept it inflamed. He gave me some samples of Celebrex, but I gave then away since I wanted to try natural healing. In time it does seem that the cartilage has rebuilt. I truly doubted that it would happen, so I guess it could not be "placebo effect". : : : I need to research the flaxseed more. I know that it is good for many things. My wife takes it along with blue cohosh and evening primrose for hot flashes, among other things. I think Adam may be on to something with the flaxseed oil (Thanks Adam!!). : : : The MSM is good for arthritis. It is good for much more also. From my studies, it has a use for every cell in the body. I never connected the nerve angle until I read China Cat's statement that she still takes MSM for sure. My mild CTS seems to be less than it was last winter when she first mentioned it in some posts and I took it up. I have a sciatica problem that goes back over 20 years ago.I keep the flare-ups in check with vit-C and echinacea, but the attacks do not come around often and are usually mild. I attribute a lot of the lowered severity to the MSM. : : : Now, yes I think the chondroitin/glucosamine will help you. It can be found at any place that sells vitamins. Wal-mart has some good quality stuff less expensive than the health food stores. : : : One other thing, my son (in his 20's) broke his heel in a dirt bike accident. The chondroinin/glucosamine helped him pain wise and speed of healing. : : : Good luck. A bum knee ain't good company. : : : Corey : : I didn't give you a chance to post back, I already went and got a bottle of chondroinin/glucsamine. Wished I had of gone to Walmart, I paid 18.95. What is Walmarts price? If its a lot cheaper, just give me a lol, sucker and I will get the next bottle at Walmart, lol. Thanks for sharing. With my problem when I missed that step my knee popped like it was broke. When I finally got the nerve to stand on it, I was relieved. It was painful but not broken. : Hi Melani Thanks Kitty. Corey and Alan are so imformative on self healing methods. I tried the (I call it my knee med) yesterday. I will keep you informed on how it works for me. You pour thing, falling down the stairs and breaking your foot. As I type I can imagine the pain you went through. Your right because Arthritis and Carpal Tunnel feels the same. I guess if the emg/nvc test are negative, then Arthritis must be the culprit. I wish Arthritis on no one. My grandmother had to walk miles a day in order to not become crippled and her little hands were just twisted little knots. Please let me know how your doing. Keep us updated. Were all a caring bunch of people that are here anytime you need us. Melani
