My surgery lasted about 30 minutes. I asked to be in a twilight state, so I don't remember any of it. I had a Bier block, so recovery from the anesthesia was was quick. My whole stay in the hospital was around 2 hours. My surgeon injected an anesthetic in my hand immediately after finishing the surgery, so I felt no pain at all until a good 6 hours later. At that point, ibuprofen was adequate for pain relief. Within 3 months I had full grip strength back. I'm at 6 months now, and only have slight tenderness at the scar site. I no longer have numbness in my thumb, pointer and middle fingers. I still have nighttime numbness in my ring and little finger, but that's likely due to ulner nerve entrapment. It's not bad enough for surgery yet. I only had one had done, and after a year recovery (which my surgeon said was realistic), I'm planning on having my left hand done.

: Me again! Can someone share what their surgery was like? Every detail would be much appreciated! My hand surgeon is planning on endoscopic surgery on both my wrist and thumb.
