Hi Brenda,
I am an accountant for a small-mid sized company and has endoscopic ct surgery on my right hand on sept 8th. My recovery went VERY well and I could have gone back to work in two weeks, but my doctor and I discussed it and decided on keeping me out for three weeks.
Right before I was to go back to work, I injured my wrist in a fall and was out for another week. I had to go back to work a month after surgery(year end for us) and let me tell you it's rough. As accountants we use our dom. hand CONSTANTLY at work, if not on the keyboard, also on the calculator, which for me was a major culprit in my cts.
I guess my advice to you is to take as much time as you can after surgery, if the doctor is willing to write you out for 6 weeks, then take 6 weeks. Don't rush back, I did only because it was year end for us. It's really hard on the wrist to go back.
