Definitely try all alternatives. Powered wheel chair? : My mother is 87 and has developed cts because of being in a wheel chair the last 5 months (continuously setting & unsetting brakes and turning the wheels). She virtually has no feeling in her fingers and is not able to do most common tasks requiring use of the fingers. My questions are: 1. how long is the recuperation after surgery? - are you able to use your hands at all? 2.Do they usually do one hand at a time? 3. What kind of anesthesia is used? (a general would be a problem for my mom)4. Is there anyone out there who has had this surgery in their 80's? : Thanks for your response, clk
