: Hi Melani, I'm so glad that the second surgery is working well. Let me say this, don't wait for two years to go by after the first surgeon screwed up. I will tell you my story. The Ortho that cut my nerve never admitted to me the truth. He just kept yelling at me that I was one of the most impatient, patients he had ever had. He kept telling me time, its going to take lots of time. Steve he held me off for a year and a half. I kept waiting for this great miracle to happen, which never did and the Ortho knew it wouldn't. His next appointment he had set for me was in Oct of this year. Guess what? That was well past the limitations for any malpractice suit. Its partly my fault because I had it in my mind he just made a mistake, and one that would get better, so I didnt want to sue. Then going to the Hand Surgeon and him verifying my nerve was cut, I got mad. But guess what? Its too late. I have been told by 2 doctors that my hand may never get better. So this leaves me with numb fingers and a burning pain like all get out in my palm. My last emg which was taken May 29 verified that the nerve had never been released during the two surgeries,it found severe CT. So my friend, dont wait too long. My guilt feelings about suing was very misdirected. It was stated to me that if your in a car accident, and it is an accident and your fault, you have to pay. I should of had this same frame of mind with my decieving Ortho. Your doctor screwed up whether it was an accident or not, he's responsible and my prayers are that you don't have to live with that numb finger the rest of your life. I still haven't gotten used to mine. And another thing, I have developed RSD because the nerve is diseased now. Steve put the ball in motion for your own sake. You trusted the doctor, he let you down. He was paid big time to do the screwup on your hand. Best wishes to you alway, Melani |
